Jabra Elite 7 Pro Review

The real wireless Jabra Elite 7 Pro earphones offer quality active noise cancellation and top-notch mic performance in a waterproof build.

Jabra’s new Elite 7 Pro earphones are valued to compete with the top ANC (active noise cancellation) true wireless models in the business. However, you get quality ANC and audio performance this time around, but both are adaptable to taste.

Although the wire-free noise-canceling earphones are water-resistant at their best, this pair is fully waterproof, providing them well suited for runners and anyone requiring rugged ANC earpieces.

A Strong Design: Jabra Elite 7 Pro

Obtainable in black, black with gray, or gold with beige ideas, the Jabra Elite 7 Pro earpieces are tiny. They appear with three pairs of ear tips in small, medium, and large sizes that match securely without ear fins.

The charging case is also meager. Its flip-top lid shows the charging docks, while a bit of battery status LED sits over the USB-C charging port. Jabra incorporates a USB-C-to-USB-A charging cable in the box. The case can charge wirelessly with Qi-enabled accomplices. While the case’s exterior doesn’t have much hold, it’s still less slippery.

Push-button checks on the outer panels of the earbuds make for comparatively straightforward operation. For example, a single press on the left earbud switches between ANC and Hear Through modes, while a double press on the left earpiece requests your device’s voice assistant. The right earpiece allows playback and call-management controls, including a double press to skip ahead a track and a triple press to return to the previous track.

IP57 rating trounces racing models. Most noise-canceling true wireless pairs are rated IPX4, in which the X implies “untested for dust,” while the 4 suggests that the earphones can withstand light splashing and sweat. The Elite 7 Pro’s rating determines the earpieces are fully waterproof and almost dust-tight. They can be immersed underwater up to a meter for up to 30 minutes. Although Bluetooth doesn’t work underwater, you don’t want to bother subjecting these earbuds to rainfall or sweat and running them below a faucet for cleaning. Keep in mind that the IP rating doesn’t refer to the case, so the earphones must be fully dry before docking.

Jabra Elite 7 Pro Review

Jabra determines that the Elite 7 Pro earbuds will serve up to eight hours per charge, but your results will vary depending on your volume level and ANC usage. In addition, the case ensures an extra 22 hours of charge.

Internally, 6mm drivers achieve a frequency range of 20Hz to 20kHz. In addition, the earphones are harmonious with Bluetooth 5.2.

The Elite 7 Pro gives you updates on the firmware, adjusts on-ear controls, and integrates Amazon Alexa as the voice assistant. You can choose from multiple EQ presets or customize the sound on your own. In addition, there’s an option to check the access of your earphones. Finally, the app is where you customize your ANC experience.

Robust and Customizable Noise Cancellation: Jabra Elite 7 Pro

The Elite 7 Pro earphones can allow solid noise cancellation. Still, it isn’t effortless to describe their effectiveness because the experience depends heavily on user-selected options. For example, the app’s fader works well if you want to customize your ANC to your current environment—inside an airplane versus a loud coffee shop. This tool adjusts a filter that cuts specific frequencies and allows others through.

The best ANC setting for a loud restaurant was the default or one notch lower on the slider. The earphones dial back a good swath of the lows and mids at this level, though most of the higher-frequency content can gain it past the ANC circuitry. For intense, low-frequency rumble such as what you listen to on a plane, the fader also serves best in this same position. You can even customize the left and right balance of the earbuds in case one ear requires more ANC than the other. Beyond these personalized settings, you can modify the overall intensity of the ANC with a master fader on the app’s main screen.

These customization features are unparalleled and will surely interest many users, but others might want an alternative that delivers optimal ANC out of the box. Although the Elite 7 Pro did thoroughly with our test suite, none of its adjustable fader settings could compete with the default setting on the WF-1000XM4 in-ears, which dial back distinctly more low-frequency noise.

Jabra’s Hear Through mode works quite well. You can switch between ANC On and Hear Through modes once you have established the ANC in the app and adjust the levels with a fader.

A Slightly Sculpted, Pleasant Sound Signature: Jabra Elite 7 Pro

The earphones produce a robust low-frequency response that appeals to bass lovers who don’t want to sacrifice balance on tracks with powerful sub-bass content. The lows don’t distort at rash volume levels, and at more reasonable volumes, the bass still feels compelling.

A track with deep light bass in the mix provides a better sense of the Elite 7 Pro’s sound signature. The drums on this track take a bit of extra bass depth but don’t sound overly booming—the earbuds provide a full, round bass drum sound with a rich low-mid delivery for baritone vocals. Also, there’s loads of high-mid presence in the mix, presenting a brightness that sounds very sculpted. The earbuds are best described as a balanced sound signature with heightening on both ends, but the midrange sounds moderately bailed out. However, the drivers are responsive, and you can utilize the EQ to boost lows to insane levels, restore the midrange, or dial back the bright highs as you see fit. With this flexibility, it’s feasible to sculpt the sound signature to most tastes. The sub-bass synth scores that punctuate the come across with a rigid body. The lows are deep—raising bass can take things to severely intense levels if that’s your preference, at the default EQ setting.

Orchestral tracks sound fresh, bright, and slightly raised in the lows. The lower register instrumentation takes a minor step forward in the mix, but the higher-register strings, brass, and vocals assert.

Clear, High-Quality Mics: Jabra Elite 7 Pro

The earphones use an arrangement of six MEMS mics, which allow excellent intelligibility. However, the most satisfying part of the mic experience is how you can concede your voice while speaking. As a result, you’re less inclined to resort to talking aloud or yelling, making more specific calls for the person on the other end. In addition, the mic operates well in the wind.

A Rugged Catch on Noise-Cancelling True Wireless Earbuds: Jabra Elite 7 Pro

Jabra’s Elite 7 Pro earphones deliver powerful audio and work with EQ that you can tune to provide everything from pounding bass to a moderately accurate, balanced output. The noise cancellation also operates well and can be connected in ways you can’t serve on most competing models. So if you’re looking for a pair better built for running and other physical activities, look no further than the Elite 7 Pro.
